Revelations in Dance, 2010-11

The dance scene is teeming with spectacular shows this season including the US premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s ballet at Miller Theatre; new choreography to compositions by David Lang at the Guggenheim; and world premieres by Lang at the New York City Ballet and Gabriela Lena Frank in collaboration with Ballet Hispanico. Meanwhile, the National Ballet of Canada in Toronto presents North American premieres of two ballets with music by Joby Talbot, and Lera Auerbach’s highly acclaimed The Little Mermaid returns to San Francisco this spring.
