The Music Sales Group acquires Bleu Blanc Rouge

London based Music Sales Group has completed the acquisition of Bleu Blanc Rouge (BBR) from legendary Belgian record producer and songwriter Jean Kluger.

BBR was established by Huguette and Jean Kluger in Paris in 1967 and includes a string of timeless hits written by Jean Kluger in partnership with Daniel Vangarde, including ‘D.I.S.C.O.’, ‘Cuba’, ‘Que Sera Mi Vida (If You Should Go)’, ‘Hands Up’ and many more.

Music Sales’ Head of Publishing Chris Butler said: ‘We are delighted to have made this significant acquisition and to have the opportunity to work with Jean and his wonderful catalogue of evergreen songs. We intend to take great care of the Kluger legacy’.

Jean Kluger commented: ‘I’ve known Music Sales since I started in the business. Each time I travelled to London I used to visit their shops and buy the latest hits. Today I’m proud to be part of their family and to let them take care of my babies’.

About Bleu Blanc Rouge
Editions Bleu Blanc Rouge (BBR) was established in 1967 by Jean Kluger and his wife Huguette. They had their first hit in 1968 with the Russian dance track ‘Casatschok’. With Claude Bolling BBR created the group Les Parisiennes, who performed and recorded some 60 songs by Pierre Perret, Françoise Dorin, Frank Gérald, Pierre Delanoé and more. BBR also publishes film music by Bolling such as the theme for ‘Borsalino’ and the soundtrack of ‘Le Mur de l’Atlantique’.

Other rights include many jazz albums and discs by famous arrangers such as André Popp, Jean Bouchéty and Gustavo Beytelmann. Another glory of the catalogue is the cult 1971 ‘Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki’, which is today frequently used in many movies and TV series. The catalogue also includes songs by Daniel Vangarde: ‘Un rayo del Sol’ and ‘Get me some Help – Wonderful Days’. Over the years Jean Kluger has written hits for artists such as Petula Clark, Sheila, Rika Zaraï, Claude François, Dalida, Sacha Distel and Ringo. In addition Kluger and Vangarde also co-wrote most of the Club Med favorites: ‘Hands Up’, ‘D.I.S.C.O.’, ‘Cuba’, ‘Aieaoa’, and all the songs recorded by the creole band La Compagnie Créole, starting with ‘C’est bon pour le moral’.
